Khau Lan Waterfall – A Hidden Gem Amidst the Green Forests of Hà Giang
Khau Làn Waterfall is located in Quyết Tiến Commune, Quản Bạ District, Hà Giang Province, just over 40 kilometers from Hà Giang City. However, it wasn’t until recently that we had the chance to explore this stunning waterfall.
Objectively speaking, “this is the most beautiful waterfall we’ve ever explored in Hà Giang.” Since it hasn’t been developed for tourism, the waterfall remains incredibly majestic and pristine. Only by visiting and witnessing it firsthand can you truly grasp its impressive size and the sheer volume of water cascading down. What we love most about this waterfall is the purity of the water flowing from the high cliffs—almost crystal clear year-round.
Majestic Khau Lan Waterfall
The waterfall consists of a main waterfall and a smaller secondary one. The smaller waterfall serves as the source, with water flowing from a cave nestled in the middle of the rocky mountain. The main waterfall is larger, offering countless photo-worthy angles. Additionally, you can enjoy a refreshing swim in the deep, wide pool at the base of the main waterfall.

Getting to Khau Làn Waterfall isn’t too difficult, as you can travel by motorbike to the trekking point, which is only about 500 meters from the waterfall. The path takes you through lush tropical forests, and the trekking trail has been cleared and equipped with steps, making it very easy to navigate.

We were truly surprised to find that very few people know about the existence of this waterfall, and there’s almost no information available on search engines. I believe it’s time for nature lovers and those who adore Ha Giang to discover this hidden gem and experience its beauty firsthand.
